She was more bothered about how the neighbors would perceive her father than his efforts. Moreover, she ordered him to clean it up right then and there and called his handiwork a disaster. Edward was understandably heartbroken. He also felt that, however hard he tried, he would never reach her level.

People who were once skeptical of Edward’s motive changed sides overnight. They were shocked to see Edward put up with Marissa’s bratty, controlling personality. They started to get worried for his mental health.

Now, the fandom is leaving no stone unturned, showering Marissa and her parents with a barrage of criticism and negativity. They think that she is treating her like she brought him. “If she wants something done a specific way, she needs to hire someone, or help,” another fan pointed out.
