Back on September 30, 2020, the production committee of the anime began a crowdfunding campaign to gather 20 million yen. They were able to raise this amount only in 33 hours, and then the makers officially announced Dropkick On My Devil Season 3. The committee ended this campaign on December 31, 2020, after collecting a humongous total of 36,181,238 yen.
According to the reports, one of the fans donated 1.1 million yen. As a result, the makers allowed him to create the subtitle name of the third season. And then eventually, the makers confirmed its title as Dropkick On The Devil!! X. The makers also revealed the reason behind naming the third season as X. According to them, that X represents the hope that Yurine and Jashin-chan will remain to cross each other and quarrel forever.
