Haikyuu is an immensely popular manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It began serializing in 2012 and, to date, is one of the best sports mangas of all time. In fact, its anime adaptation is higher up in the list of best sports anime series. The first season came out in 2014 and became an instant hit amongst the vast fan following of the manga and new viewers alike. As of now, its animation studio is broadcasting the fourth season.
Haikyuu Season 4: Review
The fourth season of the famous volleyball anime matched the expectation of its fanbase. Titled as ‘Haikyuu!! To The Top,’ the fourth season of the show begins with the boys preparing for the Spring Nationals. It debuted on January 10, 2020, and has aired for ten episodes as of the publishing of this article. The installment will be comprising a total of 25 episodes.
Fans were really impressed with the way Season 4 turned out to be. The first episode recieved good reviews and ratings. Viewers also enjoyed the new animation style this time around. However, the series became even better towards the tenth episode. People appreciated that Haikyuu Season 4 Episode 10 focused a lot on Shimizu. All ‘Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2’ Details!
Production I.G. announced the renewal of the fourth season back in September 2019. It was later confirmed that it would be a two cour installment that will run for 25 episodes. Hence, after the 12th or 13th episode, Part 1 of Haikyuu Season 4 will come to an end. Later this year, after a three-month broadcasting gap, the second part of this season will return.
It will contain the rest of the episodes of this season. The story of the series will still center around the Spring Nationals. However, fans will also get to watch the climax of this arc. Season 3 of the show ended up covering the plot of Chapter 150 through Chapter 190. Two OVA episodes released adapted the plot of the next few manga chapters.
The first episode of the latest season was named after Chapter 209 of Volume 24. As of the first ten episodes, the series is about to complete the story until Chapter 232: Warfront of Volume 26. Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 may end sometime with Chapter 290 or 292 (Volume 33) of its source material.
Will There Be A Haikyuu Season 5?
Haikyuu has earned itself a huge fan following over the years. Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 is yet to release, and the audience is already interested to know about the fifth season. Well, looking at the popularity of the anime, chances for the renewal of Haikyuu Season 5 seem pretty high. However, the series may take quite a while to return to the screens.
The manga series is still in the run, and writer-illustrator Haruichi Furudate recently released Volume 42 on March 6, 2020. Hence, Production I.G. has enough source material to create a brand new installment. However, the fifth season will only go into productions after the completion of Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2.
Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2: Release Date
When Production I.G. confirmed the fourth season, they also announced that the first part would air from January to March 2020. On the other hand, Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 is intended to run from July to September 2020. As of now, the studio is yet to confirm the date of release. However, fans can expect the new episodes sometime towards the first week of July 2020.
