Narrative of big and pure homosexual love by the anime has caused ecstasy to many of the audiences for showing a typical routine story of three young couples. The show is received very well by the viewers as well as critics have also been overwhelmed. Even though at the moment there has been no news given out by Studio Deen about the renewal of “Junjou Romantica Season 4”, still the fans can hope for it to happen by 2022. Hah! Kidding.
Junjou Romantica is a romantic, yaoi series by Shungiku Nakamura and produced by Studio Deen. The series is about three homosexual couple who try to work up their relationships in the routine of life. Though it depicts unisexual love, there is nothing too indecent or vulgar in the anime.
The show describes a warm feeling of love between the couples while they build up their relationships across the unique personality and temper possess by each one of them. It is very often that misunderstandings and rapid reconciliations take place in their lives.
Updated on 25th January 2019: The third season of the anime came in 2015 and fans have already waited for 4 years. However, the Production Studio Deen has not announced any progress on Junjou Romantica Season 4. If we check facts, the time gap between the Second and Third Season of the series was 7 long years. So, there is still hope for fans as the original manga series is still running.
Reportedly there are a total of 21 Volumes of the manga series and fans can expect to get the renewal news about another season soon. For now, Studio Deen only has one new anime scheduled for 2019 which is Kochoki: Wakaki Nobunaga. Studio Deen generally makes 4-5 original anime series every year and Junjou Romantica Season 4 could be one of it.
There are no official updates about the renewal of the anime for the Junjou Romantica Season 4, hence many are speculating that it would be rather shut down for good. But as we know that the manga on which the anime is based is not finished yet and keeps releasing its new volumes every month or so. Therefore we can continue a wait for the Junjou Romantica Season 4 to be confirmed, maybe not just now but a year or maybe two.

There may not have been any announcements or news regarding the release, but there are immense possibilities that the anime will make it for its fourth season “Junjou Romantica Season 4”. There have been several reasons for it to happen and one of them is the sales of the DVDs, and Blu Rays of the anime have been very decent and stable in the past two years. With the FUNimation Entertainment having a global market and distributors, it was easy to broadcast the season 3 of the anime on more than 15 channels in Japan and outside which made the fan base of the anime, even more, stronger and broader.
And also, Season 3 of the anime took a lot of time to release while the previous two seasons released back to back in the year 2008. Season 3 was released in 2015, which is 7 years later the second season. According to anime creators, it gave them enough time to create the new content and also to think whether they want to continue the series or end it forever. Therefore, even if the Junjou Romantica Season 4 has not been out yet, maybe still more time is needed by the creators for it.
The Release of Junjou Romantica Season 4
As we already discussed, there has been no announcement by the Studio Deen about the development of Junjou Romantica Season 4. The fan should wait for the time being as it certain that the studio will work on the anime because of its excellent success and DVDs sales. Maybe after a year or two, Studio Deen will confirm the release the of “Junjou Romantica Season 4,” and then we will know the release date for sure.
