The studio has finally announced the official release date of ‘The Promised Neverland Season 2.’ The installment will soon be available to stream alongside the rerun of the debut season. However, as soon as the premiere of Yakusoku no Neverland Season 2 is approaching, fans have begun to wonder if it will bring the end of the anime. Hence, here are all major S2 details to clear your doubts.
Set in the year 2045, The Promised Neverland begins to tell the story of a strange orphanage. The series focuses on an 11-year-old orphan Emma and her friends that attempt to flee when they get to know the orphanage’s reality. Apparently, life outside is led by higher species that feed on humans. The orphaned children are humanely raised to eventually be butchered and sold as meat to the demons. Emma and her friends begin a series of adventures as they plan to escape with the rest of the orphans.
Renewal & Production Details!
The Promised Never is adapted from the 2016 manga series of the same name. The anime debuted with 12 episodes that ran from January to March 2019. Upon its release, the series turned out to be an instant hit, and fans began to demand a second outing. Hence, the studio didn’t take long to wave the green flag. The renewal came along right after the conclusion of Season 1, whereas productions began instantly.
The Promised Neverland Season 3: Is This The Last Season?
Certainly not. As of January 2020, Yakusoku no Neverland manga series has a total of seventeen volumes. Whereas, the debut season of the anime covers the plot of the first five manga volumes. Hence, CloverWorks studio has more than enough source material for the animations of ‘The Promised Neverland Season 2’ and many more.
However, the manga series may not continue for as long as we expect. Back in August 2018, the writer of the manga Kaiu Shirai confirms that the series has entered the ‘climax’ of its final arc. Besides, Shirai would not like to overextend the plot. In fact, the manga should ideally end with around 20 to 30 volumes. As of now, Shirai has completed the seventeenth volume of the series, which leaves us with only a few volumes until the last one.
Although, even if the manga ends with its 20th volume, the anime producers will still have enough volumes to make several installments. As per the popularity of the anime, the studio may continue the series until it covers the entire plot of the manga. Well, chances for at least a third outing of ‘The Promised Neverland’ are incredibly likely. However, fans may have to wait until ‘The Promised Neverland Season 2’ premiere to get an official confirmation.
The Promised Neverland Season 2: Release Date

The brand-new episodes of ‘The Promised Neverland Season 2’ are set to air in October 2020, on Fuji TV’s Noitamina programming block. On the other hand, the studio also released a short teaser based on the final scene of Season 1.
