Ant-Man 3 is one of the most anticipated incomings of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This superhero, who has the capabilities of a teeny-tiny ant and can control trillions of ants, fabulously contributed in bringing down Thanos in Avengers: Endgame. Now, fans are longing to know what the fate of Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang/Ant-Man is?
Marvel Studios previously announced its future projects, which did not mention Ant-Man 3, and it literally disheartened the fans. They were expecting it to be there as the previous run of this comic insect-man came in June 2018. However, some recent news regarding the third installment came in, which again rejuvenated the fans with excitement and thrill.
Ant-Man 3: In Works
The next installment of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is officially in works, as reported by The Hollywood Reported. Also, Peyton Reed, the director for the previous two chapters of Ant-Man, is returning to work on the third movie as well. Paul Rudd will also reprise his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. The third run of the movie series will contribute to the Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The next installment will serve as Paul Rudd’s fifth outing as the eponymous superhero.
Lately, Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige also released their Phase Four Project schedules at San Diego Comic-Con. That included Black Widow (May 1st, 2020), The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Fall 2020), The Eternals (November 6th, 2020), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (February 12th, 2021), WandaVision (Spring 2021), Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (May 7th, 2021), Loki (Spring 2021), What If…?(Summer 2021), Hawkeye (Fall 2021), and Thor: Love and Thunder (November 5th, 2021).
Ant-Man 3: What Will Happen?
The previous run Ant-Man and the Wasp, mainly focused on the Quantum Realm. Avengers: Endgame’s main plot was too based on the same concept of the Quantum Realm. Therefore, there are some possibilities that the third installment will also take the fans on the journey of the same dimension, one more time. Moreover, it would include Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet van Dyne as she spent decades trapped in the Quantum Realm and knows it better than anyone. However, there has not been any word on the return of Evangeline Lily’s Hope van Dyne and Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym.
Adding to this, Avengers: Endgame jumped up the time for the next five years. In that time, Scott Lang’s daughter, Cassie, has reached her teenage. Since she becomes a superhero in the Marvel Comics Universe, perhaps Ant-Man 3 could see Ant-Man’s daughter following the suit.
Ant-Man 3: Release Date
According to the reports, Ant-Man 3 will follow Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder. Also, Marvel Studios is very jam-packed with its projects mentioned above. Therefore, the fans need to wait for long to have the next run of insect man’s chronicles. However, the shooting is expected to begin by late 2020 or at the beginning of 2021. So, Ant-Man 3 will hit the cinemas most probably in 2022. With Black Panther 2 filling in the May 6, 2022 slot, that leaves February 18 and July 29 of 2022 as potential Ant-Man 3 release dates.
