John Wick Chapter 4 Not Going To Clash With The Matrix 4
Good as well as not so good news for the fans of John Wick. Lionsgate has officially delayed the release of the next chapter of Keanu Reeves ultimate action. Lately, John Wick Chapter 4 was scheduled to be out in May 2021, with Warner Bros’. Matrix 4. However, now it has been postponed to May 27, 2022. It also seems a lot of work for Reeves, as his next instalment of The Matrix, paused in the fourth week of production due to Coronavirus pandemic.
The chief marketing officer and head of global distribution, Damon Wolf, made a statement about the delay. According to him, as soon as the audience from around the world head back to theatres, most will return feeling that specialness that only the traditional theatrical experience can offer. Although this seems right, as nobody wants to miss all the breathtaking action on the big screen. Along with John Wick Chapter 4, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L.Jackson’s The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is also delayed for 2021.
Director Chad Stahelski also working for The Matrix 4.
The director of John Wick franchise discussed a lot about how and why the sequel got delayed. He confronted that the delay happened because of Keanu’s commitment to the new ‘Matrix’ film, of which production halted due to Covid-19. As he stated, “I mean, ‘Matrix’ was only four weeks in when this all happened. So, Keanu’s gotta go finish his commitment up on The Matrix, which is a big deal and which I think will probably take him until the end of the year.”
Despite this stuff, Chad also revealed that he is going to do some stunt work alongside David Leitch on ‘The Matrix 4‘. For the audience’s knowledge, Chad worked as a stunt double for Keanu’s Neo in the original films. Not just this, he was also involved in a sequence for Lana Wachowski’s motion picture. In that context, he stated that they asked to help out with the choreography and some of the physical training for the guys and he is helping out a little bit for a sequence. Also, they just finished doing a sequence in San Francisco before the pandemic started.

Each chapter featured some familiar faces from the debut John Wick movie. Although some new additions also took place in the sequels. Lead by the star Keanu Reeves as John Wick himself; the next film will most likely bring in Halle Berry, Ian McShane, Angelica Huston, Lance Riddick, Jason Mantzoukas, Laurence Fishburn and many others.
