Vanessa Cross’s life has not been an easy one. The mother of two has led a life of poverty and being homeless. More so, she discussed her love life in the show’s inaugural. It turns out that there’s a devastating tale behind Damien’s death. Turns out Vanessa’s beloved was charged with felonies that were mostly related to drug dealings. Hence, in May 2015, he was arrested by Henry Country police, and he had to serve his jail time there. Dee passed away on November 11, 2016. And after hearing the tragic news, Vanessa was shocked and depressed.
Therefore, after Dee’s death, Vanessa turned to food and relied on it as a comfort. Damien’s felony started at 26 and continued till the age of 36. So, for lesser prison sentences, Dee was sent to Jenkins Correction Center Millen, Georgia. And for the last arrest of 2015, the court sent him to a tougher facility in Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison. Georgia Diagnostic and Classification State Prison is home to the rugged inmates in the state and is home to the state execution chamber.

Although Damien was a criminal, he was the love of life and a soulmate to Vanessa. And while going down memory lane, the 1000 Lb Best Friend often remembers him and posts pictures of him online. Cross recently posted his picture and paid tribute to him in her caption. She wrote that Dee changed her life. She also mentioned that there would be no other like him ever. Vanessa also said that Dee gave her strength.
