Shawn Finch, the husband of Alliya De Bastista and 90 Day Fiance face, announced his skin cancer diagnosis and that he needed to undergo surgery immediately. He and his wife might have parted ways since she hinted at her new beginning. She was upset with him for many things that restrained them from having a happily ever after.
Shawn is a Hollywood man, stepping into Tinseltown as a celebrity hairstylist. While he was on the show, he flaunted his historical LA home that Charlie Chaplin allegedly built in 1927. His unique Spanish decor throughout the rooms and other spaces gave a clear sense of his distinctive personality. But he sparked controversy within the fandom with his open-marriage rules with Alliya. Why did he develop skin cancer?

On Season 7 of 90 Day Diaries, Alliya underwent a beauty procedure with Shekinah. The 90 Day Fiance co-stars met during the session in which Alliya shared her struggles in their marriage with Shawn. She told her that her husband didn’t get intimate with her beyond twice. Alliya and Shekinah share a genuine bond, like two women in unhappy marriages.
Shekinah asked Alliya whether Shawn had ever commented on the changes she had made to her body. Knowing this disappointed the latter. Later, she faced the camera, deeply hurt by Shawn’s disinterest in her, both physically and sexually. Alliya admitted that Shawn is drawn to men rather than women. The Brazilian trans woman recognized his support for her, but his confusion regarding her has hurt her.
Shawn has shared the most distressing news to his fans. The 90 Day Fiance star took to his Instagram to talk about his skin cancer while he walked his dog Maxwell in the park. In his posted clip, he looked very normal, but his health isn’t as good as one might think from the video alone. He gave a brief update about his podcast, Reality with Shawn.
Shawn claimed the other day he got to know that his face has skin cancer. To undergo another Mohs surgery, scheduled for any day in the next cycle of weeks, he would have to pause his podcast. For the cover photo of the Reel, he used his last Mohs post-surgery picture and advised fans to wear sunscreen daily.
Wearing sunscreen is of the utmost importance when stepping outdoors, but sometimes indoor rays need protection too. Regardless, Shawn admitted he somehow ignored early signs of skin cancer and the power of sunscreen that led to his current condition. He explained how Mohs surgery is a precise cut, yet the cancer is deeper and in a larger portion under his skin.
The upcoming surgery would hopefully remove the cancer from his face. Alliya left a comment on his Reel, dropping two folded hands and one heart emoji for her husband, and he replied with three heart emojis. The couple seemed cordial despite certain problems. Several 90 Day fellow stars have wished the Santa Rosa man a quick recovery. Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for all the latest Shawn’s updates.
