90 Day Fiance: Ashia Called Out For Faking Her Pentecoastal Prophetess Calling!

TLC: Ashia And Maxwell

Ashia appears on 90 Day Fiance Season 12 alongside her partner, Maxwell. Ever since their debut on the first episode this season, Ashia and Maxwell’s story has been raising eyebrows. Ashia believes that Maxwell is ‘god-sent’ and believes it’s divine intervention for him to show up in her life. She also claims to have heard God’s voice from a young age.

Ashia and Maxwell planned to meet in the US, but his pending visa approval led to a change of plans. Now, Ashia and her mother will travel to Nigeria for an easier marriage. Fans, however, are concerned that Ashia’s divinity-calling subplot is fake and are sharing evidence to support their claim. What about Ashia tipped off the criticism? Keep reading to know the full scoop.

90 Day Fiance: Ashia Believes She Manifested Maxwell Into Her Life

A new couple from 90 Day Fiance Season 12 is already getting fans talking. Ashia, a Pentecostal Prophetess-in-training, believes faith led her straight to her Nigerian fiance Maxwell. In a church testimony, she shared that she had prayed for love and a good husband since she was 16. Ashia said God gave her signs about marriage starting in 2023 and later encouraged her to look for love outside the United States.

By March, Ashia felt her future husband was far away, so she expanded her search abroad. Within two weeks, she met Maxwell online and felt an instant connection. The TLC newcomer described him as handsome, charming, and impossible to ignore. In a confessional, Ashia introduced Maxwell as her 28-year-old Nigerian fiance. A sweet video from Maxwell made her smile even more. Ashia admitted that she especially loved his dimples, cute nose, and warm personality.

90 Day Fiance: Ashia Faces Backlash Over Her Pentecostal Prophetess Claims

Season 12’s new star, Ashia, appeared on 90 Day Fiance as a prophetess-in-training for the Pentecostal church. She claimed to hear God’s voice from a young age and also believed that divine intervention brought Maxwell into her life. All this sounded cuckoo right from the start, but things went south when fans noticed Ashia’s clashing dress outfits recently. A part of her attire did not resemble the Pentecostal church dress code. Now, fans are calling her out.

Ashia’s appearance concerned viewers and fans from the start. Recently, a famous blogger, 90dayfiance_alexapomegranate, caught her in the act. The blogger posted a photo of Ashia wearing a Jewish prayer shawl. This is odd, as the Pentecostal church follows a religion starkly different from Judaism. Pentecostals follow the Bible while Jewish people read the Torah. Her prayer shawl featured similar gold or beige embroidery, often associated with Jewish prayer garments.

So fans are now questioning why Ashia, a Pentecostal prophetess, is wearing an item from another religion. The Pentecostal church also strictly adheres to modesty for women. So it also seems unlikely that Ashia has fake long nails. Fans think she might be part of the church, but not a prophetess, or, even worse, that she is faking her prophetess storyline to follow the show’s script.
