The horrendous incident involved Caroline and a very violent Cole Goldberg, her then-boyfriend. What went down thawed the bystanders for a few moments. The witnesses around the scene had to intervene to prevent Cole from taking Caroline’s life. Soon, law enforcement stepped in and arrested Cole. However, they had to release him on bail. He jumped on his then-girlfriend, hit her repeatedly, and tried to strangle her. However, Caroline did manage to get free by meekly punching him in his arms and then jumped into the water.

Cole subsequently jumped right in after her. As Caroline tried to swim away, Cole held her head down, trying to drown her. He only stopped when the bystanders intervened. At his latest court hearing, he described it as a misunderstanding rather than a deliberate attempt at drowning. He additionally claimed that he was protecting Caroline from the numerous boats and held onto her when he himself was drowning.

There are some major updates and shocking results about the infamous 90 Day Fiance star, Caroline’s court case. The case put her ex-boyfriend on trial for charges of “attempted murder.” At first, the ruling leaned towards Caroline and her case. However, at the recent court hearing, things took an unexpected turn, catching the fandom off guard.

The court found Cole Goldberg “not guilty” on all of his charges. The judge rendered the verdict in Cole’s favor. Cole didn’t take any chances with a jury that might empathize with Caroline’s story. He opted for a bench trial that happened overnight. Judge Parnofiello declared the evidence to be inadmissible. Apparently, there were numerous inconsistencies in the witness statements.

Therefore, there were too many doubts about the incident to hold Goldberg accountable. Goldberg sported a huge smile after the judge passed the verdict in his favor. In a brief conversation with TMZ, he revealed that he was very glad the truth was finally out in the open. “I just can’t believe she would ever think I could do something like that,” Cole said, referring to Caroline.

The free man now plans to return to attend law school, just as he always dreamed. Cole’s lawyers were also very happy to put this four-year ordeal to its conclusion. Moreover, they sang praises for the young judge. “Despite being a young judge, his sense of fairness, intelligence, and reputation for following the law are undisputed,” they remarked.
