90 Day Fiance fans were caught completely off guard after learning about Shekinah Garner’s childhood and the environment she grew up in. While some had long assumed that she came from an Amish family because of her strict upbringing, that’s far from the truth.
Shekinah’s real background has left fans in disbelief, and they are still picking up their dropped jaws. It seems she was raised in a cult, and there is a lot that viewers are still not aware of. Is this true? What is this all about? Keep on reading to learn more about Shekinah and her background.
Shekinah Garner wasn’t new to the cameras when she first debuted on 90 Day Fiance. Apparently, she first appeared on the Jerry Springer dating show “Baggage” in 2012. The celeb made a shocking statement after she was sent home by the bachelor. Shekinah said, “I Left My Amish Life To Star In A Celebrity S*x Tape.”
But as per the current scenario, there is no evidence of Shekinah being in a sex tape. She had openly denied such accusations. Shekinah even told her audience that she doesn’t make money from adult content, and she didn’t want to do that in the future as well. She explained how the little girl in her doesn’t want that for herself at all.
90 Day Fiance star Shekinah had already revealed in the past that she grew up in Tennessee until she was 16 years old. She further explained that she doesn’t have a southern accent because her mother was from California and her father was from Utah. Apparently, the family lived in Tennessee and included many Amish and Mennonites with Pennsylvania Dutch accents.
Shekinah further claimed that she grew up in an Amish background. But a Reddit thread recently revealed that Shekinah wasn’t raised by “Amish parents” at all. It doesn’t seem that she comes from an Amish culture because of the kind of history that her parents had. The OP noted, “Her parents raised 6 girls off grid in their Dad’s own make believe fundy cult, Abused most if not all of his daughters.”
Fans were in shock when they finally learned about Shekinah’s background, and even the OP admitted that she had gone through a lot. A user wrote, “The dad got the idea from Amish neighbors and named all the girls with Biblical names but they were not religious.” Another one added, “This is the 1st I’ve heard of that, but when I saw Shekina and her sisters I thought they all seemed abused.”
Someone further pointed out, “There is a correlation between people who have a lot of plastic surgery and people who were raised in not the best households.” Hence, it is evident that Shekinah had a troubled past and background.
