90 Day Fiance star Sheila was not born deaf, unlike her partner David. However, a childhood incident caused damage to her ears and resulted in her hearing impairment. She was having a typical day playing with a broomstick when she inserted it inside her ear and poked it. This had ruptured her eardrum. Thus, Shiela now wears a hearing aid in her right ear, which usually gets covered with her long brown-colored hair. The reality TV celeb even confirmed that she hears clearly after using a hearing aid, but her hearing loss will continue to increase with her age.
Unlike David, Sheila is still learning American Sign Language. The couple even faces difficulties while communicating during video calls. They are worried about understanding each other on 90 Day Fiance as Sheila is still learning ASL while David can communicate only using sign language.
