After being in a long-distance relationship for two years, David and Sheila finally came together, but their happiness wasn’t long-lasting. David flew to the Philippines in the previous episode of 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days and shared a warm reunion with his Filipino beauty. He met her family members and went to sleep. Then, everyone woke up to the tragic reveal of the passing of Sheila’s mother the very next day. She could not enjoy the reunion with her lover for long as she grieved for the loss.
90 Day Fiance: Sheila Mourns The Death Of Her Mother
The Nebraska native, David, met Sheila online via a Facebook group solely dedicated to deaf singles. Since then the couple communicated online using text for over two years. Now that their wait was coming to an end, a tragedy soon followed them. David flew to the Philippines to be around Sheila for the 90 Day Fiance franchise and shared a wholesome reunion. He soon met her family and woke up the next day with heart-rending news. In the recent episode that aired on TLC David revealed that an ‘awful thing had happened,’ followed by confirming that Sheila’s mom, Remedios, had passed away.
Then, Sheila revealed that her mother lost her life after tripping down the stairs of their house. She continued mentioning that the stairs were not nailed properly, thus, they fell causing the death of her mother. She then added that this tragic incident took place at 5 in the morning when their entire family was asleep. Sheila then continued they discovered the incident after waking up the next morning.
After this tragic incident, David wanted to be around Sheila, he even asked her and her son to accompany him to his hotel room. But the latter denied the proposal stating that according to Filipino tradition, she had to be around her mother’s casket for twenty-four hours. The 90 Day Fiance couple then met again after a few days at Remedios’ funeral parade. He again proposed to her to, join him at his hotel. She then confessed to the cameras that David was extremely supportive. Sheila added that she could not be available for her partner as she was still processing her loss.
90 Day Fiance: What Was Sheila Most Concerned About After David’s Arrival?
Sheila gleamed with happiness after meeting her long-distance partner, David, after two years, but fear accompanied her happiness. She was conscious of her lover’s reaction after meeting her family and her home. Undoubtedly, Sheila’s father and mother felt disconnected while interacting with him because of his hearing problem, even though he was accompanied by a translator.
David did not question why Sheila wanted money to fix her home after it caught on fire, followed by getting hit by a typhoon. During a confessional, David shared that her living condition was concerning, for it had sewage water running everywhere. And her home has a weird smell of urine and feces. Irrespective of coming face to face with Sheila’s living conditions, David stood by her side while she mourned her mother’s death.
