Before the meetup, Shekinah warned him of his future. She told him that if her girl didn’t like him, she couldn’t marry him. She doesn’t want to go against her will.
Sarper fumbled to hear what Shekinah had to say before they left for America. The couple is ready to take their relationship to the next level, but hit a snag. As he received his K-1 visa, she reminded him of her demands. She made sure that he knew that Sofie had already gotten a bad impression of him from her family.

On the March 23 episode, Shekinah Garner admitted that she is still far from trusting her fiance, Sarper. The cultural differences surprised Sarper as he tried to adjust to the U.S. environment. The two also looked insecure about whether their love life would survive. While his trip from Turkey to America was a nightmare, he didn’t appreciate Shekinah’s home in the States.
The house was a little smaller than Sarper expected. After trying to find some space, he told her pet that they were both prisoners. An angry Shekinah then replied to him that it wasn’t a prison. She wanted him to show his loyalty consistently. But Sarper became frustrated at this, threatening that he would return to Turkey if she didn’t give her freedom.

An exclusive sneak peek clip from Sunday’s episode showed Sarper Guven attempting to impress his soon-to-be stepdaughter, Sofie. Unfortunately, his first impression of her fell flat, as it was a rocky start. He desperately wished to remove the negative things from her head to fill it with positivity.
Shekinah and Sarper met Sofie before they all went to watch whales. He complimented her through her mom, saying that she is beautiful. Shekinah agreed and asked him to look at how tall Sofie is. Later, they boarded a boat for a tour around the water. Meanwhile, Sofie told the cameras that Sarper indeed needed her approval.
Seeing Shekinah’s fiance for the first time led Sofie to think that she already knew him through the pictures she saw. However, she wished to learn more about him in the process. Sarper’s biggest obstacle came when the mother-daughter duo got excited to see whales. The trio went to the deck only, for Shekinah and Sofie to endure water splashes.
It was windy on the deck’s outside area, so instead of astonishing wildlife, Sofie and Shekinah were hard hit by a massive wave. This caused them to return to the interior to cover up with jackets and blankets. Sofie complained, “I just soaked.” Shekinah also declared, “And then we’re cold after that.” Sarper looked worried as he stared at the miserable two ladies from afar.
