Joan came all the way from Uganda to marry the love of her life, Greg. A day before their wedding, celebrations were in order. The former did mention that it was quite hard for her as she wouldn’t have her family with her for her big day. To 90 Day Fiancé fans’ surprise, Greg decided to pay tribute to Joan’s heritage and culture. He did so by hiring and presenting African dancers for his wife-to-be.
It was a wholesome moment as Joan couldn’t believe it. To be mindful of the culture, Greg mentioned that it was a mixture of Ugandan and Nigerian cultures. They also wore cultural outfits to blend in better. Viewers appreciated his gesture and said it’s rare to see American cast members not be ignorant about their partners’ roots and actually celebrate them. He won many hearts once that episode aired!

Greg and Joan had issues from the get-go. The 90 Day Fiance newbies were living with the former’s mother, Lucille, in her house. Following this, there was a lot of commotion between all three. Joan worried that such an arrangement won’t do good for them in the long run. Since then, they came to terms with their difference and decided to work collectively to live peafully. They continued to tackle obstacles.
Then, Greg’s joblessness was also an issue. On top of this, he also had debts. Joan also worried as her family would expect dowry because of the traditions in Uganda. But things changed when Greg secured a job and even the viewers began to believe that things are not that bad for them.
