90 Day Fiance has been a beloved source of entertainment for almost 10 years now. With its growing popularity, the show has also launched various spin-offs, which garnered similar attention. ‘The Other Way’ is one of the spin-offs that aired its recent season in July 2023.
The new season featured new faces, one of which is Shekinah Garner. The 41-year-old star had ‘garnered’ a lot of attention from the viewers of the show, but a lot of this attention was centered around her ethnic background. This was especially because her name had such a distinct native Middle Eastern feel.
90 Day Fiance: Fans Interested In Shekinah’s Ethnic Background, Where Is She From?
Shekinah Garner, an aesthetician by profession, starred as one of the contestants in the TLC show 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way. She and her lover, Sarper Guven, were both a part of the recent season of the show.
But what a majority of people were really interested in was the fact that Shekinah didn’t seem quite ‘American.’ The audience of the show seemingly had a blast trying to find out what exactly was her cultural background.
Apparently, the LA resident was Amish in her younger years. In an interview, Shekinah revealed that her parents weren’t born Amish but rather adopted the culture later in life. The 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way fame said that her parents had made the decision to become Amish because of the influence of their friends.
Shekinah was the oldest of her parent’s daughters, Amish, and was raised in Tennessee, USA. She recalls being the most “rebellious” person in her family. And it was due to this quality that she convinced her parents to leave their Amish lifestyle behind.
The fans of the 90 Day Fiance spinoff show had tried in their own ways to place her in at least some cultural backgrounds in their own mind. A few fans had also tried to dissect her name to understand its origins and then infer her ethnicity. The name Shekinah is actually Hebrew and means “God’s manifested glory” or “God’s presence”.
90 Day Fiance: Shekinah Is An Aesthetician
The recently revealed Amish, Shekinah Garner, was one of the new stars of the show 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way. The star had decided to leave her life in America and move to Turkey for her love, Sarper Guven, who himself is a model and a personal trainer.
Shekinah works as an aesthetician by profession. She is also an entrepreneur and runs her own business company based in California. She also has over 75k followers on Instagram on her page, where she posts beauty-related content. Shekinah is also an ambassador for Zemit Officials.
The 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way debutant has gotten a degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Shekinah wanted to get this degree to be able to manage her career as a business artist. She also studied at Frederico College of Beauty in 2002 and then, a year later, became a Board-Certified Aesthetician.
Along with beauty and makeup-related gigs, the 90 Day Fiance star also promotes her city by co-hosting events in Los Angeles.
