Emmerdale Star Paula Lane Teases A Romance Storyline For Ella
Emmerdale will welcome its newcomer, Ella Forster, next week. But wait, she isn’t a new face for ITV viewers; it’s our very own Corrie, former Paula Lane. We know Paula as Weatherfield’s Kylie Platt, who was written out in the year 2016. Ella will mark her arrival at the vet gala as managing director Jules’s PA, alongside Mandy and Paddy. At the event, Mandy will console Ellad after overhearing Jules’s lashing out at her. Later, Ella will pay back her kindness by pouring a drink over him as he continues to mock Mandy.
Later in Emmerdale, Ella gets a job opportunity at the surgery and starts interacting with other residents. The Ella actress Paula Lane teased a romance storyline involving a love triangle for her character. She revealed, “There’s already been a relationship going on there at the minute in the surgery. There might be some fireworks, there’s a little bit of competition, perhaps.” She hinted at a ‘little love triangle.’ Ella will be working at the heart of the Dales, i.e., surgery. Additionally, they are creating a whole new set for it in Main Street.
We can expect a Mandy-Ella friendship duo in the future. Paula expressed that there is a strong possibility because they met at the time when Ella’s boss had just been pushing her and pushing. The Emmerdale newcomer finally loses her calm when her boss humiliates Mandy. Mandy obviously sees how Ella stands up for her. The actress quoted, “Yeah, Mandy is a good friend to have. And they just immediately have this spark. And it develops from there.”
“I’m Gonna Really Fit In The Dales,” Says Paula
When asked about the casting of her character in Emmerdale, Paula shared that she sort of manifested it. Labeling it as a ‘coincidence,’ the actress said, “And I feel really grateful and very thankful. And like I said, I just want to do the best that I can do.’ The actress highlighted that it was just the right time to move on from Coronation Street. However, she still can’t believe that it was back in 2016. Paula even opened up about her whereabouts for the past seven. She disclosed that she was in multiple theatres and grounds. Also, she was busy raising her family and doing cameos on different TV programmes. She stated, “I’m always a big believer in going with kind of what’s put in front of you.”
The Emmerdale star Paula Lane mentioned that it’s nice to give the audience a bit of a breather when you are such a familiar face. She even expressed that she has changed personally over the past few years. Talking about Emmerdale specifically, she said, “I feel like I’m gonna really fit in here.” It’s because she comes from Hebden Bridge, and staying in the village makes her feel at home.
The 37-year-old actress emphasised the importance of shifting to a whole new character and owning it. She underlined the fact that she will have to develop something that’s going to be completely different from what people have seen seven years ago now.
