Baylen Dupree opens up about her Tourette’s in the latest season of Baylen Out Loud. She shares more about her daily struggles and how she handles tics in public. In episode 2, she is out with her mother, Julie, getting hot chocolate. While standing outside, a bald man walks by. Baylen has a “bald” tic, often aimed at her father, who is also bald. This time, she waits until the man passes before quietly saying, “bald bitch.” She explains that she held it in so as not to hurt the person’s feelings.

Baylen says she often delays or lowers her voice when she gets tics in public. She tries to control the timing to avoid upsetting strangers. People with Tourette’s say tics can feel like a strong urge. They compare it to needing to sneeze or scratch an itch. Holding tics in can feel stressful and make the urge stronger later. It is not possible to stop tics, only to delay them for a short time. Baylen learned to do it after therapy.

Baylen Out Loud: Baylen Gets A Special Tic For Santa!

The Baylen Out Loud star and TikToker, Baylen Dupree, goes to the mall with Colin to meet Santa. As someone with Tourette’s, the mall is an overwhelming place for her. While going to meet Santa might be a holiday tradition for some, for Baylen, it is a tic starter. Before she even reached the front of the line, a tic had already locked onto its target – “Ho ho ho, your ass back to the sleigh, you fat ass.”

She kept repeating, looping, and firing it in the middle of a crowded mall, with a mildly amused Colin beside her. Baylen also explained how there’s no reason for her Santa tic; it is an urge she cannot fight. She also explained how the environment is a bit overstimulating for her tics – the noise, the crowds, the long lines she genuinely dreads. Everything in the mall is a tic stimulant for her.

She also felt the urge to tell the kids at the mall, “f**k these kids.” Her three dogs also accompanied her. She has stated how Fluffy, one of her dogs, helps her with tics in public. Baylen also stated that the Santa tic worried her. She feared she would let it out and call Santa a “fat ass” when she meets him. If that happens, it would be a holiday event everyone would remember.
