Read on to learn about Baylen’s early life and diagnosis!

Is Baylen Out Loud The First Show On Tourette?
When Baylen Out Loud’s trailer came out, it was assumed to be the first-ever series to portray a young woman with Tourette’s. Nothing of this sort may or may not have aired before. More so, TLC is the first network channel to let someone with tics talk about their experience through life’s challenges.
Baylen revealed her hope to become an inspiration to millions with her latest show. She has never been so ambitious because of a lack of social life. She has never faced the public as much as she does today. To reach more people through the series, she will return with Season 2. She often feels tormented by tics but is also confident in her ability to tackle them.
Baylen Out Loud: When Did Baylen First Start Showing Tourette’s Symptoms?
Baylen Dupree’s parents, Allen and Julie, first noticed her tics when she was 6 or 7. It all began with minor motor tics, which became the worst at 18. She was diagnosed with Tourette’s before the celebration of her 18th birthday. Although doctors initially asserted that it was Tourette’s, reports confirmed later on.

After Baylen had tics at 7, her tics returned in motor and odd vocal behaviors. This happened when she was around 15. It was then that the people around her spotted her with tics. She said, “They started very, very mild, like I rarely during the day would tic as commonly as I do now.”
Hence, Baylen officially started living with the neurological disorder of involuntary movements at 15. Not only her, but nobody could control their tics whenever they came. As of April 2025, she is 22 years old and no longer lives with her family. The reality star resides with her fiancé, Colin, in their new apartment. She always wished for independence.
Due to Baylen’s doctor visits, her siblings have had strained relationships with their parents. Despite their supportive nature towards their sister, they didn’t appreciate how they had to stay away from certain things. For a long time, Dupree stopped celebrating any special occasions outside of their home in fear of receiving hate via Baylen’s tics.
