As a millionaire, Todd Chrisley is not accustomed to a ‘low’ lifestyle. But being in prison is a whole new low. And after indirect reports, Todd finally spoke out, albeit in a telephone interview. He described the dire state of prison as well as the “disgusting” food.
The Chrisley Knows Best star also talked about rat infestations and dead cats around the ‘food’ area. But now the prison authorities have spoken up. They clapped back at him. And these authorities have even made a statement with TMZ about it.
Chrisley Knows Best: FBOP Releases Statement Denying Todd’s Allegations
Poor Todd is suffering a lot in prison. He went from a billionaire business tycoon to a lowly criminal. But that wasn’t the end of his downfall. In a recent interview, the star spoke about poor living conditions in prison. The Chrisley Knows Best star also said there was rat and cat infestation in pantries and expired food. And then there was a particularly nasty description of a ‘dead-cat-situation.’
So, after the audience and the State heard the interview, there was a major uproar. And so, the Federal Bureau of Prison (FBOP) made a statement. They told TMZ that the facility focused on the safe and humane treatment of the incarcerated. And despite Todd’s accusations, the food quality was a priority. They even invalidated the other claims of black mold-laden and expired food.
TMZ also reported that the FBOP stands by its statement about good-quality food. In its statement, the FBOP maintained that they work hard to provide very good food. Their statement talked about serving appetizing meals that are healthy. Keeping in mind the health of the prisoners, FBOP provides nutritionally sound food.
Evidently, Todd’s allegations had disturbed the FBOP. They were disappointed in the Chrisley Knows Best star. Most people don’t know that FBOP has a formal review program. So, of course, they didn’t expect Todd to speak out directly against prison in the interview. They had always urged the inmates to use the system for their complaints. But Todd had taken the opportunity that his ‘star’ status provided. And now, the prison authority had to take a stand as well!

Not many stars use their celebrity status for good. But Todd might be trying to finally use his ‘stardom’ for the betterment of others. The Chrisley Knows Best patriarch gave a telephone interview on December 7. He spoke about life in prison and what the inmates go through. And it is anything but normal.
Todd had described the abysmal state of prison food. He talked about it being “disgustingly filthy.” In fact, he also said that it was “at minimum, a year” past its expiration. Then, Todd added how the storage facilities were rat- and cat-infested. This doesn’t end here. Apparently, there are also moldy walls with “dead cat(s)” inside them!!
When people thought this was bad, Todd added something new. Reportedly, the star said that someone had clicked his photos while sleeping. They then used the photo to blackmail Todd’s daughter, Savannah, for money. Apart from that, Todd also spoke about prison staff wanting to “humble” him.
