The viral video sparked a judicial investigation, and investigators found the judge had committed a serious lapse in judgment. Apparently, their affair had been going on for almost two years. They have claimed that their former legal representatives were indulging in legal malpractice. Thus, they have collectively sued their former lawyer, Chris Anulewicz, and his firm, Balch & Bingham, citing legal malpractice.

Moreover, the infamous couple now claims that their former legal representatives had a hand in their wrongful criminal conviction and imprisonment. Apparently, the attorney “had no meaningful defense experience.” The law firm apparently allowed the inexperienced attorney to take the case anyway, since “the Chrisley name meant money, publicity, and the kind of high-profile notoriety that brings in business.”

The lawsuit actively claims that Chris’ “conduct was a catastrophic, unforced error,” that had sent the Chrisleys to prison for crimes the system could have never convicted them of if he had done his job properly. Chris’ poor conduct had cost the family millions in income, their brand endorsement deals, and, most importantly, their reputation.

“They have spent millions more in appeals and post-conviction proceedings, all of it an attempt to undo harm that a single timely motion would have prevented,” the lawsuit stated. The infamous couple has sued the attorney and the law firm for $25 million in damages. They will not be stopping until justice prevails.
