Once upon a time, the Chrisleys were a millionaire family. But that was long ago. Now, their head, Todd, and his wife, Julie, are in prison. The Chrisley Knows Best stars went to prison in January 2023 and have been there for 15 months now.
But this week was an adventurous one for the couple stars. They had appeared to appeal their case in the appellate court on April 19. We have some updates on the hearing. It seems Todd’s lawyer had some issues with the investigation. He pointed out that there was “misconduct.”
Chrisley Knows Best: Was There “Misconduct” In The Chrisleys’ Investigation?
Fans had been looking forward to April 19. When Savannah had first announced her parents’ case appeal date, the fans were excited. They looked forward to how things might pan out for the Chrisley Knows Best pair. Fans were incredibly excited to see how Todd and Julie would appeal their case.
There was some new development in the case. While Todd and Julie weren’t present in the hearing, their lawyer, Alex Little, was. He had presented the pair’s arguments. According to People, Little claimed “the prosecutors” worked together “with the witness.” He alleged the evidence supported the same, claiming misconduct. Little explained that Officer Betty Carter had “recross(ed)” whether the dui “had paid taxes in the post-conspiracy period.”
Little had argued that this recross would have had a “prejudicial effect.” This means that “the jury” would believe that Todd and Julie hadn’t “paid their taxes.” Julie and Todd would come across as people who are uninterested “in paying taxes” and could commit fraud. It would give the district court the same impression. Little then went on to point fingers at the government.
He explained how the government also had a hand in the misconduct. The Chrisley Knows Best pair’s attorney says “a large sum” was “sitting for Todd.” It had “not been applied to the joint return with Julie.” Little mentioned that all this was visible “in the system.” But US Attorney’s Office representative Annalise Peters disagrees. She claimed Todd and Julie “had taken” many “steps to evade the IRS.” Annalise argued that there might have been a hearing if there was “any sort of government misconduct.” Unfortunately, that isn’t the case.
Chrisley Knows Best: Todd Is Close With The Kardashians & Might Follow Their Footsteps
Like the Chrisleys, the Kardashians also rose to fame with reality TV. The only difference is that they did it first. Since then, their wealth and fame have just gone up. The family is so famous that even Todd claims he is close to one of them. He claims to be “very close with Khloe” and that he “love(s) her dearly.”
According to the Chrisley Knows Best star, Khloe is his “spirit animal.” He also called her the “sweetest, kindest, most genuine human being and an amazing mother.” The whole family is very hardworking. But Todd revealed that some people compared the Chrisleys to the Kardashian-Jenners, calling them “the southern version of” the latter. Apparently, the people claimed the Chrisleys were beautiful,” funny, and “outspoken” like the Kardashians.
