Peter Barlow has been integral to Coronation Street for the past 20 years. Since he is with Carla Connor, the couple has been a household name with several big storylines revolving around them. But now, Peter-Carla fans are in for a shock as one of the two lovebirds is exiting the cobbles this Boxing Day. The Underworld boss is preparing herself to lead a life without Peter. Coronation Street Boxing Day Spoilers: Peter and Carla Part Ways!
Peter Barlow’s character was born in 1965. However, Chris Gascoyne picked up the role in 2000 and has been playing it for more than two decades now. This Boxing Day, he is all set to make his emotional exit from Coronation Street and start afresh. His exit means that it’s the end of Corrie’s ‘It’ couple. Peter and Carla did separate earlier, but they got back together in 2019 and even re-married in 2021.
Earlier this year in Coronation Street, Peter-Carla’s love life started taking a dark turn (again) when Stephen Reid died. Both of them chose different ways to cope with it. Peter wanted to leave the cobbles, while Carla wanted to save the Underworld. Peter was struggling and though there was nothing left for him. Carla got too busy with the factory, and Peter felt neglected. However, she later found out about his emotions. She decided to gift him a solo one-way ticket.
Peter will leave Coronation Street on the coming Boxing Day. Before he left, the couple had a heart-to-heart conversation and accepted that they love each other and maybe they always will, but they are better off apart. Soon after, Peter is surprised to spot his entire family outside the flat. The family bids him an emotional farewell, and they exchange promises of staying in touch. Are Peter and Carla done? Or is there a chance for a reunion?
Additionally, when Carla tells Roy Cropper about separating from husband Peter, he is worried about her future. Along with him, even Carla must get conscious as another challenge is coming her way.
