Jim Bob has a huge family, branching out children and grandchildren. The children also see him as someone with a lot of money. However, the situation was not the same back in his past. Jim explained how he faced financial problems while growing up. He even shared a moment where they lost their house. Jim says, “We had a lot of struggles. At one point, we lost our house.” Jim and his mom were the only ones who never lost their hope of good days. It was the darkest days of Jim. However, his mother always told the family to believe in the lord.
Jim says that his mother said, “We really need to trust the lord, and the lord will get us through that.” Therefore, instead of destroying faith, Jim and his mother tried to believe, which helped them grow better. And the same happened, time passed, and things got better.

They feature on TLC, owns various businesses, and even get their income through book sales and tours. The couple started making money at first by selling cars.
