TLC celebrity Josh Duggar who appeared on Counting On, was recently arrested and federally charged with receiving and possessing child pornographic and abuse materials. Duggar has pleaded not guilty, and his defense team has been trying hard to get his case tossed over. While there seems to be evidence against Josh, the controversial television star is trying to pass on the blame to someone else. His lawyers are now attempting to push suspicion over a different person of interest. Here are some details about the same.

Counting On: Josh Duggar’s Defense Team Tries To Shift Blame To One His Employees!

Back on April 30, 2021, the popular Counting On star Josh Duggar was reported to be arrested for a serious crime. The content retrieved from a desktop computer alleged that Josh received child pornographic material and was accused of possessing over 65 child pornography images with a video. While his trial has been pushed to November this year, his defense team is trying to get his case tossed over already. In an August 20 motion, Josh Duggar’s lawyers complained that no evidence was preserved by the federal officials. This was related to the data retrieved from the devices of the people that accessed wireless internet at Duggar’s dealership.

The defense team of the television personality had suggested the investigators look into one of Duggar’s employees. As of now, Josh’s team has been trying to cast the blame for this gruesome crime to “WItness #1”. According to a report by Insider, a person identified as Witness #1 and was initially designated as “a person of interest to the investigation.” The witness had been working at Duggar’s dealership in Arkansas and had stayed at work overnight. However, the defense pointed out that this was “without Duggar’s knowledge or permission.”

On top of that, Witness #1 admitted that he had willingly accessed adult pornography through websites on his cellphone. However, according to the court filing, Josh’s employee denied viewing child pornography. Moreover, investigators suggested they examined the cellular phone of Witness #1 for evidence of child pornography. However, this search had “negative results,” suggesting that the witness might not have accessed the content through his phone. Two other people were also interviewed by the federal officials, identifying as Witness #2 and Witness #3. However, the investigators didn’t find any evidence in their phones either.

Counting On: Josh Duggar’s Lawyers Demand Dismissal Of His Charges!

Josh Duggar’s defense team complained that the federal agents failed to preserve evidence from the cellphone of Witness #1. On the other hand, they didn’t preserve any content or metadata from the phones of Witness #2 and Witness #3 either. Hence, the defense lawyers requested the dismissal of Josh Duggar’s case from Judge Timothy Brooks. They suggested that this was due to “the Government’s failure to preserve potentially exculpatory evidence”. As of now, the charges against the Counting On star have not been dismissed, and he still awaits trial.

As per reports, Josh Duggar’s trial for receiving and possessing child pornographic material has been postponed. Now, the case is set for trial on November 30 this year. Stay tuned to TV Season Spoilers for more updates on the controversial case.
