Nineteen years ago, on August 10, 2004, Days of Our Lives welcomed the stunning Martha Madison as the new Belle Black. Ever since then, she has remained an integral part of the popular soap, as well as to many of it’s best storylines. However, there is a popular saying that suggest, all good things must come to an end. And it seems we have reached that point for Martha’s journey as Belle on DOOL. As heartbreaking as it may be, the star herself has confirmed the news of her exit.
Martha Madison took to her her official Twitter (X) account to share the news with Days of Our Lives fandom. A fan posted a collage of some of Martha’s pictures as Belle Black on DOOL to mark her nineteenth anniversary on August 10, 2023. The phenomenal actress reposted the collage alongside a heartfelt message to all her fans, thanking them for their love. She also reminisced the days gone by on the soap. “Feels like yesterday and a million lifetimes ago all at the same time,” she reflected. Furthermore, thanking all the fans who supported her “bumpy journey through Salem. It was a wild ride.”
Unfortunately, it is a journey that has reached its end far too soon. Many Days of Our Lives fans, including us, are heartbroken over the news that Martha has put DOOL behind her. We have spent many years swooning over Belle and Shawn’s chemistry on the soap. Even in recent times, Shawn has been racked with guilt over putting his father, Bo in a coma. Belle has been by his side like a rock, supporting him and trying to pull him out of his funk. Even after the many times, he lashed out at her, she did not leave his side. That’s the love we love watching.
And it would be a terrible loss to bid Goodbye to not just Martha but also her version of Belle on Days of Our Lives. While it is to be noted that Martha did not spell her exit in so many words. But the nostalgic and reflective tone of her message indicates that she is well on her way out. Interestingly, sources close to the star and the production told Soaps.com that Martha Madison has finished taping for DOOL back in May. Thus, any upcoming episodes we see of her could e the final ones. However, we will still hold on to some hope until we get a solid confirmation from her or the production.
