Days of Our Lives: Star Stacey Haiduk Apologizes For Stabbing Victor Kiriakis

Nobody loves a villain in real life. But put a formidable one on-screen and they might even over-shadow the hero! So imagine how fired up the screen used to be when the two of them would share a scene! Aah, good old days! Soap star Stacey Haiduk recently reflected on a scene she did with John Aniston (Victor), and admitted that it was perhaps one of the most difficult scene she had ever filmed.

In a recent chat, Stacey told Soap Opera Digest, that stabbing Victor Kiriakis was perhaps the most difficult scene she has done on Days of Our Lives as Kristen. Back in the day, he had stolen her baby and gave it to Sarah. Livid, Kristen stabbed him in the chest, staring menacingly straight into his eyes. Even recalling the scene gives us a chill down our spine. Stacey fondly recalled that she had apologized to the veteran actor before filming the scene. “I ave to stab you. I am so sorry,” she told John.

DOOL/ Kristen threatens Victor

To bring out such dark and hard hitting emotions on the screen is no easy feat, and the Days of Our Lives star admitted that it takes it’s toll. Stacey pointed that playing dubious Kristen on DOOL, and Patty on Y&R used to be difficult in the beginning. These characters do so many bad things and you have to justify it in your head from their perspective. It does have a psychological effect that has to be dealt with. For example, there was a time when Kristen kidnapped Sarah and locked her in a crate! Sounds horrifying right? Stacey pointed that she is a very spontaneous actor and always discusses the scenes with her co-stars prior to filming.

” Linsey is a tough little cookie,” Stacey gushed. She and Paul Telfer are always game on Days of Our Lives. Despite all the bad stuff that comes with playing a notorious character, the phenomenal actress admits that she prefers negative characters to the positive ones. She believes there is more scope for storytelling, as well as, margin for performance. Stacey shared that even before she stepped into soaps, she had been playing bad girls on-screen for years. In her 20 years acting career, she has portrayed perhaps every possible negative trait, and yet feels there is scope for more!

DOOL/ Kristen kidnaps Sarah

We wonder if that is a hint at what’s to come next on Days of Our Lives. Currently, on the Peacock soap, Brady is ready to do just about anything to snatch back Rachel’s custody from Kristen. In fact, Stefan and Gabi are also willing to put Kristen’s chances of retaining the custody in jeopardy for their own gain.

Will this once again push the sassy anti-heroine to unleash a mean streak? We would certainly like to see it! Nothing is more fun that bad Kristen! What do you think? Tell us in the comments. Meanwhile, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers for more Days of Our Lives updates on Kristen’s story!
