Marian ‘’GG’’ faced many hurdles in her cancer battle. She was diagnosed with the deadly disease in 2014. Since then, the Doubling Down With The Derricos star has been battling the disease and sharing her updates through the family show. Deon and GG gave updates about her health during a live session. The latter revealed she is doing well and considering alternatives to modern medicine. Hence, she wanted to opt for holistic treatment.
The reality TV star informed her fans that she wanted a quality of life. GG plans to move to Mexico for treatment or find a doctor in America. She didn’t want to put more burden on Deon, as he already has the responsibilities of his fourteen children. The TLC star stated, “I love life and I want to be here a lot longer.”

Deon has always been an amazing son to his mom, GG. He encouraged her and supported her throughout her treatment. However, GG doesn’t want to put more financial burden on her only son. She feels he should focus on the needs of his children. Several fans suggested the DDWTD star start a GoFundMe. But GG wasn’t ready for it and refused to start the fundraiser for her treatment.
Well, Karen appears to have convinced her former mother-in-law to raise money online. She shared the link to the fundraiser and encouraged her followers to show some support. The Doubling Down With Derricos star started the fundraiser on behalf of her ex-husband, Deon. Karen planned to raise $1,39,900 through the platform. She introduced GG as “America’s favorite grandmother” on the platform.
The TLC star shared how many challenges Marian faced during her cancer battle. Karen explained that GG was working when she was 64 before her cancer diagnosis. She has been fighting the disease for over 11 years. The TLC star stated, “GG, does have health insurance, but unfortunately, health insurance doesn’t cover holistic medicine or care, which is very expensive.”
Karen noted that Deon supported GG throughout her treatment, but they need help to cover the expensive treatment. The former also noted that the money will cover things, including transportation, oxygen supplies, and vital cancer treatments not covered by insurance.
