How Did Dr. Pimple Popper Build Such A Massive Following?

Dr. Pimple Popper had already established an empire that few reality stars could match before a shocking health scare. In 2010, she gained fame by posting dermatology instructional videos on YouTube. However, in 2015, she saw when everything changed.

She soon gained millions of “pop-aholics” and billions of views by adopting the fad and revealing treatments for cyst removal and blackhead removal. In 2018, she became Dr. Pimple Popper due to her rising status. She established SLMD Skincare and, in addition, wrote Put Your Best Face Forward, strengthening her impact beyond TV.

Dr. Pimple Popper’s On-Set Health Scare – What Really Happened That Day?

While Dr. Pimple Popper was filming Season 2 of her Lifetime show in November, the shocking incident happened. She admitted emotionally, saying she felt “super sweaty” and out of character all of a sudden. She thought it to be only a hot flash, something that many people wouldn’t give much mind to. Her body, however, had a different plan. Things took a dramatic turn on November 20, when she went to her parents’ house after filming was completed.

According to Dr. Lee, she started experiencing intense, shooting pain in one leg along with anxiety. Walking became challenging, especially when she tried to walk down the stairs. However, the most concerning signs came soon after. The left side of her body began to weaken. She had difficulty speaking clearly, and her hand was no longer steady. The awareness that she might be having a stroke came at that point. Luckily, her father saw the warning signs and told her to go directly to the emergency room.

An MRI later confirmed her biggest fear: Dr. Lee had a stroke. She called the experience a “total,” admitting that she was no longer able to ignore the weakness and slurred speech. “I had a part of my brain that died,” she said. Production had to stop due to the situation, and the show took a two-month break as she worked on getting better. To regain her strength and return to her regular life, she received both physical and occupational therapy.

Dr. Lee is now talking about something bigger as she gets ready for the April 20 premiere of Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out. She highlighted how stigma leads many people in Asian societies to hide strokes. However, she wishes to change that story. Her advice is very clear: always put your health first and never ignore warning signs. Keep coming back to TV Season & Spoilers for more updates.
