Prison officials placed Duggar in solitary confinement after the violation. They have announced his new release date to be October 2, 2032. Earlier, it was August 12, 2032.
The incident led the officials from FCI Seagoville to move him to the Special Housing Unit (SHU). Due to being there, inmates face strict limits on communication and visitation. After all, Josh was carrying the banned device. Hence, a major prison rule was broken, which directly resulted in sentence extension with severe consequences.

Although they have identified the person responsible by now, the staff has still extended the restriction to all inmates. Officials said they wanted the punishment to affect everyone fairly. Inmates at FCI Seagoville often rely on the commissary for extra food and hygiene products. But the reports claim the facility serves small portions, pushing inmates to buy more.
They purchase snacks, coffee, meat, and toiletries with their funds. Sources close to the prison have defended its food quality. They denied major sanitation issues. But MDC Brooklyn had reported of them. Officials claimed Seagoville serves some of the best food in the federal prison system. There have also been updates about their delicious menus during the festive period.
