Let’s just say that Priscilla Presley’s time on DWTS was anything but a gorgeous ballroom fantasy. She is finally talking about it. The 80-year-old actress, who was formerly Elvis Presley’s wife, recently commented on her Season 6 experience. She revealed something that no one expected. Priscilla now admits that she wanted to leave the competition in 2008, despite fans’ belief that she loved every moment of it. In fact, she openly said she genuinely “could not wait” for the popular ABC show to eliminate her.
However, what actually caused her to get to that point? Priscilla said that the dancing itself was not the real issue. Rather, she points to her professional dancing partner, Louis Van Amstel’s frustration behind the scenes. Fans are now questioning whether there was more ballroom chaos than they could see.

Louis Van Amstel often spoke positively about their partnership on DWTS even before Priscilla Presley made these shocking allegations. In a 2025 interview, the seasoned professional dancer Louis called Priscilla “an amazing woman.” He also revealed that they continued to communicate years after Season 6 ended. He even revealed that every time he traveled to Los Angeles, they would get together for dinner.
Louis admits that Season 6 was not his favorite journey on the show, even though he personally praised Priscilla. Rather, he called his partnership with Kelly Osbourne in Season 9 the most dramatic and life-changing experience of his DWTS career. Regarding Priscilla’s recent allegations that he was distracted during rehearsals, Louis is still silent.
Priscilla honestly shared her bitter experience on DWTS during a May 2 speaking session in Las Vegas. Despite her personal love for Louis Van Amstel, she revealed that he allegedly had other priorities during the competition. Priscilla says that Louis wanted to leave rehearsals early to spend time with his partner because he had recently started a new relationship. She apparently believed their partnership did not receive the same level of effort as other contenders, which irritated her.

Priscilla explained that she and Louis practiced for about 3 hours a day, whereas many famous competitors practiced for about 6 hours. If they had spent more time getting ready together, she thought they could have done much better. Every time she took to the dance floor, she put in a lot of effort despite feeling let down behind the scenes. She admits she had never been good at dancing, but she took it up because she felt it would be exciting and fun.
The actress also revealed that she was really worried because of the pressure of performing every week. Despite accepting the challenges, she apparently found the entire process emotionally draining due to ongoing stress and inadequate preparation. After hearing her honest confession years later, fans now have a completely different opinion on her Season 6 run.
Priscilla’s comments are still awaiting a public response from Louis Van Amstel. It’s interesting to see that the professional dancer recently stated that he still hopes to participate in Season 35 of DWTS. Louis admits on Instagram that he is “not good” with the ballroom world. He would gladly return if producers invited him back, especially after making an appearance in the show’s 20th anniversary special. Fans are now unable to stop talking about the drama hidden behind one of the show’s finest seasons, as well as Priscilla’s unexpected accusations.
