The BBC One soap, EastEnders released decades ago in 1985. The soap has been on air ever since and has weathered many seasons thus far. Considering the cosmic number of episodes it has aired, it is understandable that the makers have touched numerous storylines and have gathered a rather large pool of characters. As amazing as it is, it does have a down side to it! Even though the soap airs four times a week, it only has a 30-60 minutes runtime, thus allowing makers to only give limited airtime to certain characters.
Unfortunately, this means that many characters don’t even get a proper storyline and are just wasted. This is something that many EastEnders fans have taken notice of. In fact, off-late, the BBC One soap’s fanbase has become of the opinion that if the makers are not able to justify the presence of certain characters on the soap, they should just write them off entirely. And the characters in question happens to be an entire clan! The Baker-Taylors.
Currently, only one member of the entire family, Keanu, has a substantial storyline on EastEnders. Unfortunately, even that is not very well-received. A fan wrote on social media that when Keanu was first introduced to the soap, he seemed like a mature and sensible character. Thus, making him very likable. However, over the years, his character has regressed to that of a man-child. Meanwhile, some other fans believe that Mitch and Karen have over-lived their potential, and it is perhaps time for them to be written off.
The Unanimous Fan-Favourite Is Only One On EastEnders
However, there is one member of the Baker-Taylor family who still has favor from the EastEnders fanbase. It is Bernadette Rihanna Taylor a.k.a. Bernie, played by Clair Norris. The fans believe that she has a lot of potential that has not been explored. “Bernie has so much more to give,” a user wrote on an online forum. Another insisted that Bernie staying away from too much drama has played out well for her. Moreover, she frequently interacts with most of the characters on the soap, and has created a place for herself in the heart of the community.
Fans are hoping that EastEnders will take advantage of Bernie’s potential and not let her go to waste. As for the rest of the family, fans would rather see them gone. This brings us to a huge question. Could this possibly be the end of Keanu on the BBC One soap? There is a male character slated to die around Christmas. Could it be Keanu Taylor?
