BBC One’s EastEnders is a legend in it’s own right. The soap has sustained it’s massive success for several decades and enjoys a vast fanbase across all age groups. A large part of said success comes from the soap’s intense and hooking storytelling. However, a part of it also comes from the sporadic casting treats it keeps offering to the fans.
A latest scoop being carried by The Sun, reveals that EastEnders has roped in iconic star Alan Ford for a major new storyline. The revered actor won much applause for his stellar performance in Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. He has also won major acclaim for starring alongside hotshots like Brad Pitt.
The Mitchell Family Has A New Member on EastEnders
The news story suggests that Alan has been signed on board to be part of a rather tragic storyline on EastEnders. Fans should prepare to pull out the tissue box for Aunt Sal’s upcoming heartbreaking funeral. The Hollywood star will be arriving in Walford to attend the funeral. A source close to the production beamed that Alan is a great signing for the soap, as he is a huge name in show biz.
The source stated that the fans will be delighted to see him on EastEnders. His character will be revealed to have a long standing and strong history with the Mitchell family. Furthermore, they revealed that Aunt Sal has been such an Icon for the soap. Thus, she will be made proud in her send-off. The Mitchell family will make a huge deal about it in the upcoming epsiodes.
Interestingly, this will not be Alan Ford’s first appearance on EastEnders. The Cockney star has previously been part of the soap in 1986. He appeared as a conman -Sam Sanger. As Sam, he tried to con Debbie Wilkins out of her deceased boyfriend, Andy’s belongings. However, he eventually failed. Thanks to the formidable Pauline Fowler who ripped him down, and sent him packing.
It will be quite interesting to see what character Alan plays this time on EastEnders. We wonder if he will once again return as conman, and try to dupe the Mitchells this time. Or could it be an all new character? Well, stay tuned to TV Season & Spoilers to find out more on this in our EastEnders updates and news.
