Earlier this year, to mark the soap’s 38th anniversary, EastEnders dropped a Christmas FlashForward scene. It showed the dead body of a male character surrounded by the women of Walford. However, the FlashForward scene did not reveal the face of the victim, nor did it show anything that immediately and clearly gave away the identity of the victim. But it did tease a very important detail about the victim, and the significance of it has already started to rear its head! The Curious Case Of The Victim’s Cufflinks!
Ever since EastEnders released the Christmas FlashForward scene, fans have been trying to decipher the identity of the possible victim. Initially, the leading candidate for it was Nish Panesar, closely followed by his son, Vinny. However, as the soap progressed, many more characters started to appear as probable victims. For instance, Keanu seems to be embroiled in a heated storyline with Lisa, where she is trying to squeeze money out of him. Which is about to bleed him dry of the money Sharon gave him for their dream wedding. Theo Hawthorne also seems like a good fit, considering he has some really foul intentions cooking in his head!
However, now a new theory has emerged, which not only makes a lot of sense but is also backed with some logic on EastEnders! While the FlashForward scene did not reveal the victim’s face, it did bring into focus the cufflinks the man was wearing! In fact, the cufflinks were what brought Vinny into the running as a possible candidate to be revealed as the victim. After all, he often wears suits accessorized with cufflinks! However, the latest scenes on EastEnders have put forth another interesting detail that teases another person as the victim!
Who Wins The Tell-Tale Cufflinks On EastEnders?
Recently, on EastEnders, Rocky hosted a stag night before his wedding. The attendees indulged in a game of poker! And much to our surprise, the corpse’s cufflinks were on the table getting passed around! Nish Panesar originally put them into the game as collateral for his bet in the game. Initially, Rocky Cotton managed to win the round and gain the cufflinks. However, he later handed them over to Jack in a subsequent round since they were too flashy for his taste! So as of now, Walford detective, Jack Branning, is the proud owner of the conspicuous cufflinks. And that has immediately catapulted him to the top of the list of possible victims.
However, that in no way means that the cufflinks will remain in Jack’s possession all the way till Christmas on EastEnders. In June 2023, while interacting with the media, actor Navin Chowdhry (Nish) pointed out that fans must keep an eye on the cufflinks. Hinting that they might move from person to person throughout the year! Thus, continuously adding new names to the list of possible victims! Furthermore, he also teased that he knows that Nish is “the number one contender to die at Christmas.” We wonder if that was a hint that the cufflinks might find their way back to him!
