EastEnders saw Karen Taylor and Mitch Baker leave Walford with their younger children, leaving behind Bernie and Keanu. Sadly, Keanu got killed on Christmas Eve at the hands of Linda Carter in the Vic. That left us with Bernadette Taylor going solo. Is she really drifting without a motto?
On a Reddit forum, one EastEnders fan questioned Bernie’s presence and suggested she had no significant ties apart from Felix. Another fan speculated about her departure once the Keanu storyline draws its conclusion. They said, “Once that storyline is done, she will probably exit to Spain.”
Additionally, a bunch of fans chimed in to support Bernie. They said, “I’d rather they just give her more to do. Like she’s a really good actress. The person continued, “She’s a really good actress, and it’s a shame she isn’t getting better storylines.” Moreover, they criticised Bernie’s portrayal on EastEnders of a hopeless single due to her size.
Furthermore, some viewers also advocated for Bernie to stay long-term. One fan emphasised the importance of background characters “rarely in the thick of it but are always around.” They cited other EastEnders examples of Shrimpy and Tracey.
