Social Media Buzz Over Ricky’s New Post
Ricky Champ, known for playing Stuart Highway on EE, has shared pictures of his new character on Instagram. He looks very rough and dirty, clutching a burnt black rat skewed on a pointed stick. He captioned the picture, “I wonder who this disgusting fellow is?… coming soon on Netflix…”
To Ricky’s surprise, comments poured in as soon as he shared the glimpses of his new Netflix venture. One gushed in, “Looking forward to this. Miss ya on the square.” Another chimed in that they miss Champ on EE, and the soap is ‘awful’ without him. Third Commented, “Finally! I watched all of Him and Her for the millionth time last week,” And they believe that Ricky must be back on TV. We can’t agree more!
Last year in March, Champ was seen working on an upcoming Netflix show called The Decameron. However, the actor didn’t clarify what production he was working on at the time. Ricky also shared a bunch of pictures from Italy. He was filming with Saoirse Jackson, Tony Hale, and former EastEnders co-star Jessica Plummer. Ricky is portraying the role of The Mangy Bandit. The series is based on Giovanni Boccaccio’s book of the same name. Moreover, his IMDb reveals Ricky has been working on a production titled My Names Tim. He plays a delivery driver for gangsters in the series.
His Journey on EastEnders
During his time on EastEnders, Ricky became a darling of the fans as Stuart. The 43-year-old actor departed the soap in 2022 when his character’s struggle with postnatal depression reached a climax. The caption read, “What a crazy, amazing journey. It’s going to be strange not having this guy living in my head.” He added, “Farewell, Mr Highway, it’s been emotional #eastenders (thanks for the pics Jess @stuart_highway on Twitter).” Fans and Champ’s co-stars poured their love for him in the comment section of that post. Milly Zero (Dotty Cotton) wrote, “Incredible man and actor and so blessed to have worked with you, Rick.”

After exiting EastEnders, the actor has been performing in the West End. He also took on the role in a thriller titled 2:22: A Ghost Story at London’s Apollo Theatre. It featured a notable cast of several celebrities.
In 2022, the actor welcomed his son with his wife Samantha and named her River. They also shared that their four-year-old daughter, Beatrix, is super excited to be a big sister!
