It has been quite some time since we have seen Sam Mitchell on EastEnders. Previously, on the BBC One soap, she left Walford after spending a year on the soap. This was her first stint on EastEnders after a long seventeen year gap. Considering that the stint was an absolute with the viewers, fans were hopeful that she would eventually return to the soap. Initially, it was being speculated that Sam will return to the square, right in time for the birth of her grand child. (Ricky and Lily’s baby.)
However, that didn’t happen. Lily recently gave birth to her baby girl in a dramatic and chaotic scene on EastEnders. But Sam wasn’t a part of that stretch. Now, the latest reports are teasing that actress Kim Medcalf has started filming for her return to the soap. She was recently spotted at Elstree studios, where EastEnders is filmed. Thus, sparking speculations that she is back on the sets. As exciting as that is, we must keep in mind that going by the usual filming and airing schedules, her comeback would hit the screens around Autumn.
Which means Sam would return to Walford bang in the middle of multiple heated up storylines on EastEnders. However, she will also have a whole pile of her own stories and records to set straight when she returns. Owing to her seventeen years absence from the soap she does have a lot of catching up to do. Especially re-foster a relationship with her son Ricky. Perhaps, she could even make up for lost time by investing herself in helping Lily and Ricky with their baby Charli.
Apart from this, there are also many stories that will be soaring around the time of her return on EastEnders. On top of the list is the much hyped Christmas murder. Then there is also the horrifying Cafe fire that might claim some lives. And we can also add to the list the recently teased dramatic exit story of Rocky Cotton’s exit from the soap!
