Sonia Fowler has really been unlucky in love on EastEnders. For the longest time things didn’t change for her as she bounced from one heartbreak to another. However, the sun started to smile down upon her when she crossed paths with Reiss. The two met for the first time at Dot Cotton’s funeral. Their connection felt instant and real. Thus, they both acted upon it, not wanting to lose the opportunity of finding true love. However, they hit a huge hurdle when Sonia learnt that Reiss was already married to a lady named Debbie.
Reiss’ first wife has previously suffered a stroke, due to which she is in an incompetent state in a hospice center. Upon learning the truth, Sonia wanted to break up, but Reiss managed to convince her of his love and the two remained together. But then, fate tested them once again when Reiss accused Sonia of cheating, because he assumed she was pregnant. However, when Sonia lashed out at him and told him that her test was negative, he opened up about being infertile.
Reiss confessed to Sonia that he was an awkward child and that he only got through it because his mom was incredible towards him. He then admitted that he has always wanted to have children on EastEnders. He wants to be a wonderful parent to his children, just as his mother was to him. Furthermore, he told Sonia that when he and Debbie fell in love he felt like he had hit the lottery. But when she had her stroke, he felt like all was lost. Until he met Sonia.
Is Reiss Trapping Sonia On EastEnders?
Moved by his words, Sonia softened and told him that they were lucky to have found each other. The two then went on to discuss the possibility of having children via IVF on EastEnders. But here’s the thing, as heartwarming as their conversation was, there was also something off. What if Reiss is not being entirely honest with Sonia? Could he be lying about the circumstances that caused Debbie’s stroke? If so, there is a chance that Sonia could actually be unsafe with Reiss.
On the other hand, there is also a possibility that Reiss might be in this relationship just to have a child! Which again, isn’t the healthiest reason to have a relationship. If there was no secret in Reiss’ past, why would EastEnders even bring his wife into the picture? We are not buying that Debbie is irrelevant to Sonia’s future story with Reiss. What do you think?
