Walford stalwart Ben Mitchell might leave Walford in a tragedy. EastEnders spoilers reveal that he is currently facing extradition to America on credit card fraud charges. The character is likely to serve a six-year prison sentence. The latest drop marked the farewell of the Walford legend, with Ben bidding goodbye to his husband, Callum. EastEnders Spoilers: Ben Bids Farewell to Walford!

During their farewell, Callum urged Ben to admit his crime for a shortened sentence, per EastEnders spoilers. Callum requested, “Just for once, do the right thing.” This led to a frustrated outburst from Ben, who eventually chose to distance himself from his husband. Moreover, Callum even used his position to gain access to Ben and speak with him, but to no avail.

According to EastEnders spoilers, Ben told Callum that he was the best thing that ever happened to him. However, he went through a moment of self-pity and chose to set Callum free, pursuing him to move on. Consequently, Callum accepted Ben’s decision only to be returned with his own demands. Callum told Ben, “I don’t want a life without you. You’re my husband.”

He continued, “See that ring on your finger, they took it off you, I don’t care, it still means something to me,” per EastEnders spoilers. Callum recounted that he promised to always be there for them and he intended to keep that promise. Furthermore, Callum just wasn’t ready to give up on his husband. He announced, “When you come home, I am going to be there waiting. Ben Mitchell, I love you.” Ben responded as they kissed briefly, “Callum Highway-Mitchell, I love you too.”

Fans Didn’t Like Ben’s Exit!

Nevertheless, Ben’s departure didn’t sit well with some fans, spill EastEnders spoilers One wrote: “There was no sense of finality to that exit.” They criticised the lack of closure in Ben’s relationships with other characters like Jay, Kathy or Phil. Another fan was disappointed with the ending, “It was all going so well up until that final scene.”

Meanwhile, Max Bowden reflected on how the past five years had been quite the journey. He wrote, “Well, guys, it’s that time! It’s been one hell of a ride!” He expressed gratitude for letting him bring his version to the screen and embracing it.
