Emmerdale Star Joins Forces With Hollywood Heavyweights Cena and Elba
Actor Mark Hampton bids farewell to Emmerdale and steps onto the global stage. The cherry on top is that he’ll share the screen with Hollywood stars, wrestling icon turned actor John Cena, and the legend Idris Elba. Hampton portrayed the character of Cain Dingle’s lawyer in the Dales.
The star made his mark in the soap’s 50th-anniversary storyline. Fans must recall the time when Cain was charged with the murder of Al Chapman. However, Cain’s innocence was eventually revealed when his 10-year-old son confessed to the crime. The soap star labeled the plot as ‘dramatic.’
Reflecting on his experience, the soap star chuckled as he recounted, “So for me as an actor, it was quite funny because I thought, ‘this is going to be great.” He particularly found it amusing as it was courtroom drama. However, the storyline took an unexpected turn with the big reveal, and it was like his time on Emmerdale was cut short.
Despite the early departure from the show, Mark Hampton fondly remembers his time. Additionally, he expresses admiration for his co-star Jeff Hordley. Emmerdale star highlighted the contrast between Jeff’s on-screen villainy and his genuine kindness off-screen.

Additionally, he shares his journey back into acting after a break. He spanned across independent films, television, and commercials. The actor expressed, “So one day you will be doing Emmerdale, the next an indie film, and the next day Heads of State where I’m sitting in the back of a presidential limo with John Cena, who’s one of the kind of biggest stars in the world!”
