Emmerdale Actress Zoe Henry Gives Insights Into Her Character’s Christmas Storyline
The end of this year has been a rollercoaster for Rhona. From discovering that Gus stole and used her frozen embryos to witnessing her biological son being born, it was emotional for her. To add to it, Gus’s wife, Lucy, died right after giving birth. Recently, the Emmerdale Rhona actress Zoe Henery revealed her character’s upcoming Christmas storyline.
The Emmerdale star shared that Gus is unable to cope with his wife’s death and baby Ivy simultaneously; hence, Mary decides to bring them home. But it’s just around Christmas. She said, “It’s great, they’re really sensitively-written scenes.” The Emmerdale actress added that Marlon and Rhona decided to invite Gus and Ivy to stay for Christmas.
She continued that It’s great news for Rhona as she desperately wants to be a part of Ivy’s life but Marlon is wary of what this would mean for their family. She quoted, “I think it’s a bit of an eye-opener for Marlon and Rhona to go: ‘Oh, maybe this isn’t going to be as difficult as we thought.’ But obviously, it will be because it’s soap.”
Additionally, she disclosed that Gus is avoiding all the conversations about Ivy’s future. Emmerdale star Zoe stated, “It’s not even getting through Christmas – it’s getting through the grief of Gus losing his wife. There’s no rational conversation with Gus at all because he’s not in his right mind.”
She said that Rhona is just saving everything from falling apart while treading a very fine line because she’s got exactly what she wants – all three of her children in one place – but her husband is unhappy, her ex-husband is unhappy.
