Lemonada Media, the distributor of Meghan’s podcast, pushed the dates to at least a year in the wake of her upcoming Netflix cooking show. They believe that the cooking venture would overshadow the podcast. Moreover, they fear scheduling clashes with the launch of her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard. Meghan Markle: Why the Delay?
The Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield claims the lack of available dates is the main issue. Yep, the potential guests of Meghan Markle seem to be busy. Kinsey asked, “Meghan has a list of very high-profile guests scheduled to participate in her new podcast, but does she? Moreover, the royal expert said that High-profile guests usually have their schedules packed months in advance.
So, Meghan Markle should know as she used to be one of them. Meanwhile, PR expert Ryan McCormick told the Mirror that Meghan’s podcast delay is a “PR disaster.” Ryan said that the delay, after all the hype following the Spotify deal collapse, is not a good look. Mind you, there are 4.1million podcasts in existence today.
So, Ryan believes that at least 4.1 million people less privileged than Meghan Markle “were able to do what she can’t do.” Subsequently, the podcast being pushed back to 2025 could seriously squash interest. It will also raise concerns for future media deals.” In a similar fashion, Royal expert Fitzwilliams finds the decision “strange” and suspicious. He believes that there might be more to it than just scheduling clashes.
