General Hospital: It has been two long years since actress Emma Samms appeared as Holly on General Hospital. TV Season and Spoilers had recently reported that the talented actress has been combating long COVID for a while now. However, the makers of GH have been very accommodating toward the talented actress. And have made it comfortable enough for her to return to the sets.
The last time viewers saw Holly on screen was when she was being held captive by a mystery figure in Monte Carlo. However, her prolonged disappearance leads other characters of General Hospital to presume her dead. But, now, with her return on the horizon, Emma spoke to Tvinsider.com about her comeback and her battle with long COVID.
“I still very much have Long COVID and I was concerned about coming back to work.” The General Hospital star expressed her apprehensions. However, “Frank Valentini, head writer assured me they would be accommodating, and they’ve been incredibly kind in working around what I’m capable of.” She said appreciating the creative team of General Hospital.
“It’s been rough, obviously. Yes, she’s been held captive.” Emma points at how Holly would be feeling on her return. Teasers show Holly sitting next to Robert (Tristan Rogers) and being questioned by Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), with Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and Ned (Wally Kurth) standing nearby. Holly will be lost for words about how she escaped captivity in Monte Carlo and landed back in Port Charles.

“The amazing thing is that after about 30 seconds, everyone was acting exactly how they did years ago,” Emma shared. Talking about working again with some of the original cast members of General Hospital. “Even some of the crew are the same and that’s just lovely!” She exclaimed. “A lot of the writing in the show at the moment, you can tell the writers watched the show back in the day. When it was so fun and so exciting and so fast paced because that’s what it feels like now.” Emma pointed at how viewers are about to get a super fun ride in the future episodes of General Hospital.
And going by how every episode has been unraveling in the past weeks, we totally believe her! And we just cannot wait for Emma’s episodes to start airing, either!
