Dex’s Horrifying Past Before He Moved To Port Charles
So Dex is one of those characters on General Hospital who have not originated from one of the legacy families of Port Charles. Thus, anything we know about him comes from whatever he has spilled himself to others. For instance, he opened up about the horrific childhood he had, before he moved to the town of PC. Dex shared that he grew up without a father. Moreover, since he had an absentee father, there wasn’t anyone to actually look out for him while he was growing up.
So certainly, there is a lot of baggage when it comes to Dex’s past on General Hospital. At one point, he even shared some gruesome details from his yesteryear. He recalled being put in the hospital several times because his brothers brutally beat him up. Moreover, his parents showed no empathy over his predicament and wrote off the incidents as boy stuff! A trauma like that could certainly be burning fuel to drive someone down the path of vengeance. But why is Dex’s vengeance reflecting on Sonny?
Is Sonny Dex’s Long-Lost Father in General Hospital?
We know Sonny has had a colorful life on General Hospital. Over the years, the handsome gangster has had many romantic partners. Could it be possible that one of Sonny’s lesser-known flings gave birth to Dex? We have been soap fans for long enough to know that bombshells like that can drop on legendary characters at any point in the story. Sometimes, writers even go back and re-write history to accommodate plot twists like these! So, could Dex really be Sonny’s biological son?
When Dex was suspected of being the dreaded hook killer on General Hospital, Sonny got him out of the police’s grip. However, he then strung him up from the roof and tortured him to find out the truth. Later, Michael offered to set Dex free from their “arrangement.” Michael did not want to put Dex’s life in danger just to take revenge on Sonny. He even offered to pay Dex the full amount he had promised him for his help. But Dex refused to back down. It felt as if money was not his driving force. Is it possible that the real driving force is something more personal? What if Dex knows the truth about his paternity and wants to destroy Sonny for abandoning him?
