Maurice Benard Hints Fans About What’s Next For His Character
Recently, Maurice Benard updated his status on Twitter, where he revealed that he had done some scenes with Cynthia Watros (Nina). He called the scenes “Simple, Sweet, A touch of magic.” He said that to him, this was an underdog story. Maurice also stated that he will continue to bring what he can to make this story come to like. He said that this doesn’t mean that he does not honor- #CarSon.
Now, this status reveals a lot of things. First, since Benard is shooting romantic scenes with Nina, it looks like their story won’t be cut short. General Hospital films months in advance. So, we can expect that viewers will get to see “Mike” and Nina’s romance for some time now.
Not just that, Benard also said that he would continue to bring this storyline to life. That suggests that there will be more romantic scenes that he and Watros will film down the line. That extends their love story even further. It looks like Benard is hinting that the “Mike”-Nina relationship will become more than what it is now. It will become more than a mutual crush. So, this storyline might lead to being a full-blown relationship even if Nina’s truth comes out.
This would add the underdog statement. It is also possible that “Mike” might come to know who he really is. He will realize that Nina had kept the truth about his identity from him. But, Sonny might understand Nina’s motives when she tells him that she just wanted to let him have a fresh start. While that wasn’t Nina’s initial reason, but later on, it became a huge part of the reason. “Mike” is the kind of person who hates crime, enjoys peaceful new existence. So, Nina will say that she liked this new version of Sonny and she did not want to destroy it.
General Hospital: Sonny Might Not Feel The Same Way For Carly
We cannot rule out the fact that even if “Mike” comes to know about his real identity, that does not guarantees that he will get all his memories back. And without his memories, he might not feel the same for Carly. He does not know who Carly is. But he knows that he has fallen for Nina. So, he might choose Nina over Carly.
Of course, this could embark a larger journey for Sonny. It is also possible that he might find his way back to Carly down the line. We can just hope that Carly and Sonny reunite later on in the show. But it looks like Sonny will first have a love story with Nina, then a reunion with Carly. How will all of that play out?
