General Hospital recognizes a good thing when it sees it! And thankfully, there is one dynamic here on-screen that has stood the test of time and has not been messed with. We are talking about the wonderful friendship between Sonny Corinthos and Anna Devane. The two have shared a relationship of mutual trust and respect for many years. Especially on a daytime soap that thrives on complicated relationships, that is certainly a feat!
Recently, on General Hospital, when a violent shooting broke out at the Metro Court, Sonny and Anna were there together. At first, it felt like either one of them could have been the intended target. But it soon became clear that Anna was the target and not Sonny. Despite the discovery, Sonny remained committed to uncovering the identity of the assailants. Sonny is embroiled in multiple issues at the moment. Yet, he is taking out time to brainstorm with Anna. This really makes us wonder why Sonny is so invested in helping her.
General Hospital Star Maurice Benard Spills The Tea
But it looks like we aren’t the only ones asking the question! Interestingly, General Hospital Legend Maurice Benard recently opened up about the REAL REASON during a chat with SOD. Maurice pointed out that Sonny really does care a lot about Anna. So much so that he himself doesn’t understand why. However, the roots of it may lie with Anna’s deceased daughter, Robin Scorpio. Back in the day, Robin and Sonny really did share a special relationship. Even though it has been a while since she passed away in the lab explosion, Sonny hasn’t forgotten their bond.
Thus, it is a legitimate possibility that Sonny’s fondness for Robin on General Hospital now also extends to Anna. And we know how Sonny thinks and operates. He will do just about anything for the people he cares about. Furthermore, in his interview, Maurice also mentioned that Sonny has immense respect for Anna. Moreover, “There’s just something about her.” he confessed. Well, we feel you Sonny! There really is something about Anna! And we hope this dynamic between her and Sonny never changes!
