Back in 2023, many hearts broke when young heartthrob William Lipton exited General Hospital as Cameron Webber. It was believed that the exit was only temporary as he needed time off for education and would return later. Interestingly, the makers even incorporated the same exit story for his on-screen character’s exit. Cam left Port Charles to go to Stanford on a sports scholarship. Right after Joss left him for Dex.
Of course, PC residents were just as heartbroken over his exit as were General Hospital fans. But behold, a tragedy had taken him out of town, and another had brought him back home. Those who tuned into the latest episodes of the ABC drama saw Cameron return to pay his respects to dear friend Spencer. Certainly, the cost of this reunion is very high. But that being said, Cam’s return was necessary in this hour of need. Spencer’s passing has left many shattered. And Cam’s arrival and support will mean a lot to them.
As expected, General Hospital fans are elated at William Lipton’s return to PC as Cam. They thanked him for coming back and allowing Cam to bid goodbye to Spencer. Furthermore, they also expressed their love for the star and asserted how much they miss him on-screen. Many fans urged William not to take this long a break again and revisit PC more often. And we wholeheartedly back up that request!
General Hospital: William Lipton Reacts To Fan Sentiment
The profound fan sentiments were certainly not lost on William, and he promptly responded to them. The General Hospital star took to his official X (Twitter) account to express his gratitude. “To say that I was happy to see my GH family would be an understatement. Huge thanks for all your lovely comments,” he wrote. We don’t know how long Cam will stick around in Port Charles before it’s time for him and William to leave again. But we surely do hope that he returns again soon.
