Fans must already know that Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has had some problems figuring out who the legal father of her baby is in the eyes of law. After she got out of prison in December 2023, she got back together with Ken Urker, someone she was engaged to while she was still in prison. But things got tricky because she had married someone else, Ryan Anderson, in 2022 for a short time. She went back to Ken afterwards.
In Louisiana, the law says that if a woman is married when she has a baby, the husband is assumed to be the dad, even if he isn’t. So even though Gypsy and Ken were sure he was the real father, they had to take a DNA test to prove it. The test showed that it is likely that Ken is 99.9% the father. Hence, it cleared up the confusion so they could be a family. She had to deal with a lot of scrutiny prior to this.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently shared a heartfelt message on social media. It was to announce that her daughter, Aurora, has officially taken the last name ‘Urker.’ This marked a significant step in Gypsy’s journey with partner Ken Urker. The announcement comes after a lot of public speculation about the baby’s paternity. In a previous post, Gypsy had shared the results of a prenatal paternity test.
It confirmed that Ken Urker is the biological father of Aurora. She didn’t reveal much afterwards but it was evident that Gypsy was finally at ease after this new developement. As shown in the reality show, Gypsy had to deal with a lot of scrurity. Her ex, Ryan Anderson, also shed tears in one of the episodes as he wanted to be Aurora’s dad. But the paternity test proved otherwise.
Ken’s name wasn’t on the birth certificate, as Louisiana first recognized Ryan to be the father because of the law. However, with the paternity test results, there is ongoing rectification to prove Ken’s legal recognition as Aurora’s father.
