Jay & Pamela are having a tough time adulting. Jay is 30 years old, while Pamela is 28, and they live with the former’s parents. He and Pamela met virtually and dated for over a year. After that, Pamela decided to move in with Jay and his parents. The couple was born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, a rare type 3 fragile bone disease. Here, their bones are weak and may break even with minimum pressure.
The duo first bonded over their shared condition. It is a genetic disorder in which one of their genes is defective. As a result, they struggle to live a regular life. They have a deficiency in collagen production, which is the main tissue that supports the body. Over the years, they have suffered over 400 bone breakages. However, they still want to live a normal life and do everyday tasks. The couple recently went grocery shopping, and it was quite a scene.

Jay & Pamela Are Planning To Have A Baby
Jay & Pamela want to live life like a normal couple. They also got a dog who they named Cheddar. Jay shared that, at this point, he wants to take one day at a time. They want to go step by step, but they do talk about babies.
Pamela further elaborated that babies are not off the table. People with her condition can have babies, and if both of them have it, then the chances become 50%. So they can still have a baby. They will see if their health can permit it. She also acknowledged that having a baby is a huge responsibility, so they are taking their time.
Jay & Pamela Struggle With Grocery Shopping As They Could Not Reach Things
Jay & Pamela are a couple with special needs. They have extremely weak bones, so they cannot even walk. The duo uses electric motor wheelchairs. They can break bones even while walking, so they have to be extremely careful. The couple recently went shopping, and it was quite a sight. Firstly, they could not reach most of the things on the shelves. Secondly, several things were too heavy for them.
As Pamela reached to get the onions, she found them very heavy. On the other hand, Jay revealed that whenever they went to the supermarket, he felt nervous. Things are placed haphazardly, either up or down. He struggles to get hold of them, so he uses a stick. However, balancing the stick is another task. They often have to ask for help, and people are always not helpful.
Sometimes, they call for help, and people look around but can’t see them down. He got the cinnamon via his stick, but it slipped and fell down. He later had to struggle to pick it up. Pamela went to get chicken but could not see it as it was placed high. She asked for help, but the man asked if his mother asked her to get chicken. She further added that it often happens.
People ask her about her mom, and she replies, ‘home’. Jay’s mother helped her a little, and they had a successful grocery session. Jay joked that Pamela had forgotten a few items, but it was fun.
